At this week’s first meeting of the Highland Council’s new Caithness & Sutherland Area Committee Highland Councillors discussed an update report on the progress being made by Caithness & North Sutherland Regeneration Partnership (CNSRP).
Responding to the support expressed at the meeting by the elected members CNSRP’s Chairman Sir Anthony Cleaver said:
“The strength of the CNSRP is that it draws together the public and private sector in a collaborative programme of work to address the area’s future economic sustainability. The Highland Council was a founding partner in CNSRP, and it has continued to play a crucial role in driving the Partnership forward over the past four years. So it is particularly pleasing to hear of such a positive reception for the Partnership’s achievements to date and its future targets at the first meeting of the Caithness & Sutherland Area Committee. As we continue to support efforts to diversify the area economy away from its dependence on Dounreay I welcome the valuable continuing support of the area’s elected representatives.”
